Yeeee Hawwwwww....Cowgirl Paige!!!

Paige recently attended her friend Emma's 3rd Birthday Party! I can't believe all these girls are either turning or getting ready to turn THREE!!! As you can see, Paige and Callie had a wonderful time riding the pony. Speaking of the pony.....God love him, he has got to have gender issues. He was VERY obviously a boy and yet they painted his mane and tail pink and put blue glitter on his hind quarters and hooves. Paige and Callie weren't too into the petting zoo in the first picture. Happy Birthday, Emma.....you put on quite a party! Paige and Callie are only a week apart and Carmen (Callie's Mom) and I have discussed just hosting a joint bounce house party.....Sorry girls, no ponies.....we just can't compete with Miss Emma and her fancy pony! ha ha

Cinderella at the Ball

McKenzee's Junior Cotillion Class hosted the "Winter Ball" a week ago. She had a great time at her first dance. I love this picture because these are all girls who were in McKenzee's kindergarten class "yesterday". From l-r: McKenzee, Tori, Lucy, Heather, Kasey and Kelsie.....a very sweet, way too grown up, group of young ladies!!!!

I know, I know!!!

I haven't blogged in a while.....as cute as "our cheer squad" is at the top of our blog, I know that I need to get busy with an update. It's been a little busy around here through the holidays, as evidenced by my disgustingly messy house! (No comments from those of you who have seen it, please.) Just a few thousand things have filled my days and kept me away from the blog.....
1. I have an extremely busy 13 year old cheerleader, basketball player, first chair percussionist, who also attended her first "Winter Ball" last night...complete with her first semi-formal dress and HEELS...uggghhhh! (yes, she was home by midnight and didn't turn into a pumpkin)
2. I have an extremely energetic 2 year old who thinks the entire house is her playground, in which to spread her new Christmas toys.
3. My basketball coach husband is in the middle of his busiest
time of year and since "district" games haven't started, all spare time is filled with tournaments in crazy places like Celina and Leonard.
4. My sweet Mother-in-law moved to the United State from England on December 18th. We looked at a house for her on December 26th, she made an offer December 27th, and closed on December 31st....since then furniture shopping, and moving have commenced at a feverish pace. 5. The flower shop has been busy, which is a huge blessing in this economy! However if you know someone that is looking to buy a nice little shop, send them my way....I miss teaching more than I ever imagined!

Anyway....that's just a quick update as to what we've been up to. I'll post pictures in the next few days, after I get my house back in some semblance of order.

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday season!

Our Cheer Squad!

When we were at NeeNaw and Peep's a few weeks ago, the girls had a photo shoot with PeePaw to get a shot for their Christmas cards. The girls were so patient and did a great job! Below are a few of the shots from the day. I had to wait to post them until after NeeNaw sent out her Christmas cards....I didn't want to steal her thunder. he he "Sissy, I'm tired!!"

This is one of my favorite shots....my laughing angels!

I'm so blessed to have these two little stinkers, and they
absolutely adore each other!

Basketball Update

McKenzee's first basketball game was Tuesday. She didn't start, but played very well and got playing time in 3 of the 4 quarters. She scored her first career basket. The coaches were so impressed with her hustle during the game, that at practice on Wednesday, they made her a starter. Congratulations Mackee!!!!

Another Basketball Star in the Family!!!

Believe it or not, MY daughter is the TALL one in the middle..... and when I say "another basketball star..." I am no part of that equation. Those of you that know me, know that I don't have an athletic bone in my body. But, our family does have quite a basketball history, on both sides. My Grandmother Dobbs was a basketball STAR back in the day. She played on a state championship team and was offered full scholarships to several schools including Baylor and UT, before her parents smashed her dreams, telling her that she had enough school and didn't need to go to college, it was time to go to work. My Aunt Charlotte (aka: MeeMaw Charlotte) was an awesome basketball star in high school. Fast forward a generations to my cousin Randa who is an awesome basketball player and fulfilled my Grandmother's dream by earning a scholarship at the University of Texas. Now, my daughter is following in those great footsteps. Last week Mackee's school had basketball tryouts and I have to admit that my heart dropped when I found out that 130 7th graders were trying out for 24 spots. After 3 days of evaluations, McKenzee came home with the great news that she had made the team. Two days later, she was elated to learn that she not only made the cut, she made the "A Team". Daddy Paul is beside himself, and they are like two kids in a candy store talking about offenses, defenses, and drills. (just in case anyone didn't know, my husband is a high school basketball coach).
Great Job, Mackee!!! We can't wait to see you in action!

McKenzee's Birthday!!!

McKenzee had an awesome 13th Birthday. She got lots of great presents and had her first "Co-ed Birthday party". We had a digital camera scavenger hunt, which seemed to be a huge success, according to McKenzee and her friends.

McKenzee got birthday wishes from all our sweet family. Thanks so much NeeNaw & PeePaw, Grandma, Great Grandma Jo Jo and Great Grandpa Frank, Pop Pop & Bon Bon, Poppy Wally & Christy, Aunt Wee & Uncle Eric, Aunt Jennifer & Uncle Jake, and Aunt Carol and Josh for making McKenzee's day so special.

Special, special "Thank you to Aunt Randa and Uncle Matt for being our party planners and hosts. You guys ROCK!!!!

This is McKenzee and her special "13th Birthday present" from NeeNaw and PeePaw,
her first Coach purse. Goodness gracious! I had to wait until I was 37 to get my first Coach. But I can relate to her excitment, because my sweet Ninnie bought me a Gucci when I was about the same age and I remember being on "Cloud 9". Awe, the simple things in life that bring such joy....hand bags and shoes....what more could a girl need? ha ha
